TROPHY CARE
From the field to the Taxidermist - Here's what you need to know..

GAMEHEADS

Full shoulder mounts, are the most popular way for most people to display their trophy animal.
To properly skin animals for mounting, proceed as follows.

  1.    Make initial cut behind front legs in order to include enough of the brisket for a full shoulder mount.

    2.    Cut around animal, across the chest about 6 inches behind fron legs. Also skin out about 6 inches of each front leg.

    3.    You may now peel skin forward from the shoulders, up the neck, to the head, leaving approximately 2 to 3 inches of the neck attached to the head.

    4.    Freeze and carry to taxidermist.

    5.    Do not cut any holes in scalp. Do not cut throat or brisket.
